Claim to fame

Mekhi Phifer's acting career began when he landed the leading role in Spike Lee's Clockers at an open casting call. He went on to star in films like Soul Food, O, 8 Mile and Dawn of the Dead. He is best known to TV fans for his six seasons as Dr. Gregory Pratt on hit medical drama ER, as well as recurring roles on Lie to Me and Torchwood. He made his Broadway and stage debut in Stick Fly.
