Listen to This! American Idiot Cast Joins Green Day on '21 Guns'

Let's call this one a Christmas present for those of us holding our breaths for the Broadway transfer of American Idiot! On December 22, a new recording of Green Day's platinum-selling single "21 Guns" will be available for digital download online, featuring the rockers performing with the cast of the white-hot musical. But thanks to Spinner.com, you can hear it now!

Green Day singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong said, “We wanted to record ’21 Guns’ because it represents a pivotal moment in the show when the lead character realizes he needs to get his stuff together. After the show wrapped, we headed straight to Oakland with the cast to record, and they sung the hell out of it. I couldn’t be happier. It’s great to have something out there for people to hear who didn’t get to see the show.” Don't worry, Billie Joe... from what we hear, a lot more people will be able to see the show very soon on Broadway!

The track largely features stars John Gallagher Jr., Matt Caplan, Michael Esper, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Christina Sajous and Mary Faber, with musical arrangement by Tom Kitt. It will be available for digital download beginning December 22nd.
