As John the Baptist in the Broadway revival of Godspell, Wallace Smith calls out to Jesus’ disciples while preparing the way for the Lord. Later, Smith flips the script, taking on the role of Judas, the infamous disciple that betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. So, it’s no surprise that like his character in Stephen Schwartz’s classic musical, the dapper actor has a taste for the saintly and the slightly sinister. During a tour of his dressing at Circle in the Square Theatre, Wallace showed Broadway.com the coveted rosary beads that once belonged to the Pope himself while also confessing that he can’t but worship “Bad” singer Michael Jackson.
