Spirits were high at the Broadway Theatre on April 20 as Sister Act celebrated one hell of a fabulous opening night! The high-spirited musical stars Patina Miller in a show-stopping Broadway debut as Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva-in-the-making who witnesses a murder and ends up in hiding in a convent, butting heads with Mother Superior (played by Tony winner Victoria Clark) and bringing some soul to the convent choir. Producer—and star of the show’s 1992 namesake film—Whoopi Goldberg walked the red carpet before sitting down to the opening night performance, joined by her co-hosts from The View (Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselback and Joy Behar), plus famous pals like Sylvester Stallone and Brooke Shields. Once the curtain fell, the habits came off and the sequins came out as these nuns headed to Gotham Hall to celebrate their glorious first night. Click through to join the Sister Act congregation.
