This prequel to Peter Pan tells the story of how a miserable orphan became the Boy Who Never Grew Up. “Boy” and his adventurous friend Molly take to the high seas, where they must overcome Black Stache and his band of pirates to keep the world safe from evil.
This adventure play is based on Peter and the Starcatchers, a best-selling 2004 novel for young readers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, published by Disney-Hyperion.
Peter and the Starcatcher began life in 2009 as a “Page to Stage” workshop at La Jolla Playhouse in California. A full production opened off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop on March 8, 2011; the play jumped to Broadway at the end of the 2011-2012 season.
