Sweet-voiced David Archuleta, last season’s beloved American Idol runner-up and current pop phenom, had two reasons to give thanks over the turkey-roasting holiday: a prime appearance during Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the growing success of his self-titled debut album (which is going strong at #12 on the Billboard 100 list). Archuleta got into the spirit on November 26 by hitting up Latino-infused hit musical In the Heights (which was the perfect inspiration for Archuleta's next-day parade performance). The young star wasn’t the only ticketholder to appreciate the show’s smooth rhythms and moves—mom Lupe, a former salsa dancer and singer from Honduras, was also on the scene to get into the groove.
