Atlantic Theater Company opened playwright Annie Baker's New York debut
Body Awareness on June 4, bringing Atlantic players and their many supporters out to the company's Stage 2 venue as the 2007-2008 season came to a close. Helmed by Karen Kohlhass, the sharp new comedy features Jonathan Clem, Peter Friedman, Mary McCann and JoBeth Williams as a mildly dysfunctional, nontraditional family agitated by the arrival of nude photos during a small college's "Body Awareness Week." Though the show tackles the effects of awareness and perception, the only thing cast and crew were aware of was a lovely spring night out.
