At Atlantic Theater Co., Michael Cristofer & Manoel Felciano Open in Trumpery
While his buddy Aaron Sorkin just opened The Farnsworth Invention uptown, down at the Atlantic Theater Company in Chelsea his former co-producer of the hit television show The West Wing Peter Parnell has a play of his own making its world premiere in New York this week, the history-based exploration of Charles Darwin during his writing of The Origin of Species called Trumpery. In a production starring stage vet Michael Cristopher (and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of The Shadow Box) and Manoel Felciano (who received wide critical acclaim and a Tony nomination for his interpretation of Tobias in the most recent revival of Sweeney Todd), Trumpery had its official opening on Wednesday, December 5.
