If there's a kid in your world who's been dazzled by live theater and wants to know how it all works, then Thomas Schumacher has a book for you. Just in time for Christmas, Schumacher, the President of Disney Theatrical Productions, is releasing his illustrated book for children about the mechanics of the magic of the theater, How Does the Show Go On?. And he's a guy who's had quite a bit of experience answering his book title's question, as Schumacher has helped shape and mount such Broadway shows as The Lion King, Aida, Tarzan, Mary Poppins and the currently previewing Little Mermaid. On December 12, along with co-author Jeff Kurtti and the young Broadway actor Henry Hodges (who stars as Michael Banks in Mary Poppins and who has an essay in the book), Schumacher launched How Does the Show Go On? at the Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Center.
