Children of Broadway Celebrate Schwartz's Eden
On December 1, a lot of theater folks gathered way outside of the borders of the theater district. The reason? On 120th Street & Riverside Drive, a concert version of Stephen Schwartz's and John Caird's Children of Eden was being held at Riverside Church to benefit National AIDS Fund and the York Theatre Company. Laura Benanti, Julia Murney, Darius de Haas, Natascia Diaz, Jonathan Dokuchitz, Ann Harada, Norm Lewis and Kate Shindle were among the theater faves on hand to sing the score. A "Fab 5" member even got in on the action--Queer Eye For The Straight Guy's Jai Rodriguez performed "A World Without You," a song previously cut from the show.
