Elaine Paige Takes a Bite Out of Sweeney Todd
British stage icon Elaine Paige (as Mrs. Lovett) and Mark Delavan (in the title role) headlined the City Opera production of Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, which had its official opening at the New York State Theater at a gala performance on March 9. We're talking breathtaking performances here! The musical, which you probably know features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, a book by Hugh Wheeler and an adaptation by Christopher Bond, is a favorite among Sondheim fans and... well, everyone.
