There were smiles and good cheer in abundance on January 26 as Rosie O’Donnell officially cut the ribbon at the Maravel Arts Center in the heart of the Theater District on 45th Street. The space will be the new home of the stage maven’s Rosie’s Broadway Kids, an organization O’Donnell and wife Kelli created with Artistic Director Lori Klinger to provide free music and dance lessons to New York City public schools and students. The center, which houses dance and music studios, a library, dressing rooms and performance spaces, was named in honor of Pat Maravel, the teacher who inspired O’Donnell as a child.
