I Am My Own Wife Celebrates in Style
After a successful run off Broadway earlier this year, the poignant new drama, I Am My Own Wife hit the Great White Way on December 3. The shining star of the one-man show, Jefferson Mays--without his black dress and pearls--celebrated in style opening night with playwright Doug Wright and director Moisés Kaufman at the Supper Club. In I Am My Own Wife Mays dramatically portrays German transvestite Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, who survived both the Nazi and Communist regimes during her lifetime, as well as more than 30 international characters.
