Ivo van Hove's Misanthrope Opens at New York Theatre Workshop
The internationally acclaimed avant garde stage director Ivo van Hove is back in town and New York Theatre Workshop's got him. Again! Having previously mounted award-winning reinterpretations of Hedda Gabler and A Streetcar Named Desire at the company's East 4th Street playhouse in seasons' past, on Monday, September 24, the director opened his latest deconstruction of a classic, Moliere's The Misanthrope. Featuring such off-Broadway mainstays as Bill Camp and Joan MacIntosh, The Misanthrope continues through November 11.
