Late of Lennon, the sultry singer Julia Murney may only have one Broadway credit to date—though her song-styling has generated a lot of buzz from the numerous benefits she's performed in over the years, not to mention from starring in Andrew Lippa's off-Broadway musical The Wild Party in 2000—but with the creation of her first album, I'm Not Waiting, Murney's re-known is certain to grow. Produced by Joel Moss and Sh-K-Boom Records, Murney's song-list includes compositions by Lippa, Tom Kitt and Joni Mitchell, among others. At the recording session on January 11, we caught a glimpse of Murney at work. With her producers, and a bunch of Broadway pals lending their talents as back-up singers, it all appears to be making Murney's Waiting something to look forward to!
