LaChanze, Krakowski, Butz & More Make MCC's Miscast Benefit a Blast
At the Hammerstein Ballroom on March 12, the house was full of showbiz folk doing what they do best: climbing the boards and putting in on! In the Manhattan Class Company's annual benefit performance of Miscast—which gives actors a chance to perform numbers they might never get a chance to do elsewhere for fear of hearing that dreaded dismissal of their interpretation, "Oh, they're miscast"—such Tony Award-winning performers as LaChanze, Norbert Leo Butz and Jane Krakowski, as well as current Broadway headliners like Tarzan's Josh Strickland and Company's Raul Esparza gave new twists to old standards and had the crowd screaming for more.
