Broadway favorite Rent celebrated its 5000 performance on May 23. The company gathered backstage for a modest celebration of the long-running show, which is counting down to its much anticipated final performance on Sept. 7 (don't worry if you don't have tickets—Sony Pictures recently announced they'll film the big day for release in theaters across the country). After producer Kevin McCollum addressed the gathering to thank them for their enduring hard work and support, the Rent family, including show stars Tamyra Gray, Will Chase, Justin Johnston and nine-year cast veteran Owen Johnston II, sliced into a celebratory red velvet cake.
