Legendary Broadway publicist Samuel J. Friedman passed away in 1974, but somewhere his spirit was smiling on September 4. In addition to Mayor Bloomberg proclaiming the day as Samuel J. Friedman Theatre Day, Broadway's historic Biltmore Theatre was rechristened as—you guessed it—the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre!
