James Stovall presented his annual concert Nativity: A Life Story for four performances at the United Palace earlier this month. Stovall directed and co-wrote (with Hattie Winston) the show, which featured many of his famous friends (including Broadway diva Lillias White and Phylicia Rashad). A celebration of the holidays and heavenly gospel sounds, the show is a highlight of every Christmas season. We caught the matinee on December 7 and headed backstage after the show to congratulate the cast.
