Raise a Glass for the 2007 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre!
The 2007 Tony Honors, held at Tavern on the Green on October 30, was hosted by the nine-time Tony winner Tommy Tune and featured numbers from Young Frankenstein, Wicked, The King and I and Gypsy. The Tony Honors ceremony is an annual event to recognize important members of the theater community who do not necessarily fit into the formal Tony Awards categories. This year, they were awarded to Gemze de Lappe, a legendary dancer, choreographer and teacher; Neil Mazzella, Broadway's go-to technical supervisor; Alyce Gilbert, a longtime wardrobe supervisor; and Seymour "Red" Press, a musician and music coordinator for over 50 years.
