Rosie O'Donnell, Cyndi Lauper & Friends Get Sensuous with Margaret Cho at the Zipper
Down at the Zipper Factory it was definitely "Ladies Night!" on Wednesday, October 3. For not only did Rosie O'Donnell take a trip to the off-beat performance space on West 37th Street to catch her longtime friend Margaret Cho grind out the jokes with her eccentric troupe of players in the burlesque-themed comedy show The Sensuous Woman, but that same night, Cho's drawing power (which must've been having a harmonic conversion of Hairspray energy) produced a total Tracy Turnblad encounter—as both Hairspray's original film star Ricki Lake and Broadway's Tony-winning Tracy, Marissa Jaret Winokur, were also in attendance! Crazy. Then on Saturday, October 6, Cho's pal Cyndi Lauper (with whom she headlined on Lauper's recent True Colors concert tour for gay rights) dropped by. And, of course, so did we.
