This Songbook is Queer

Believe it or not, there are gay people in theater. In fact, the Broadway community has done much to advance gay rights and causes. Seth Rudetsky hosted a fundraiser for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center on October 4. The event, entitled Queer Songbook: A New Generation of Broadway Composers, featured music from old, new and Broadway-bound tuners such as Avenue Q, Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party, The Opposite of Sex and A Little Princess. Gay and straight Broadway stars "came out" to perform and support a great cause.
