Believe it or not, there are gay people in theater. In fact, the Broadway community has done much to advance gay rights and causes. Seth Rudetsky hosted a fundraiser for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center on October 4. The event, entitled
Queer Songbook: A New Generation of Broadway Composers, featured music from old, new and Broadway-bound tuners such as
Avenue Q, Andrew Lippa's
The Wild Party,
The Opposite of Sex and
A Little Princess. Gay and straight Broadway stars "came out" to perform and support a great cause.
