Two Comedies Tonight! Mamet's Double Bill of Laughs Opens at Atlantic Theater Company

Think you know David Mamet, the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright behind such plays at the searing Glengarry Glen Ross, the satirical Speed-the-Plow and this Broadway season's new social commentary, Race? Well, you might want to stop by Atlantic Theater Company, where director Neil Pepe and a cast of Mamet veterans and rising talents are showcasing a different side of the famous provocateur: bawdy comedian. Best known for more biting works, Mamet's in full farce force with a double-bill of unrelated one-act plays titled School (which features two school administrators musing on life within the educational bubble) and Keep Your Pantheon (about three failing actors getting into, out of, and back into trouble in Ancient Greece). The new works had their opening night September 30, and Broadway.com was there as the all-male cast (featuring stage vets like Brian Murray and John Pankow, among many others) took the stage, took their bows--and then took a night out to celebrate. Click through and meet the Atlantic gang for yourself.
