An Affair to Remember! A Catered Affair's Big B'way Opening
The new musical A Catered Affair had a splashy opening night to remember on April 17. Star Tom Wopat, who plays a cab driver in the show, drove to the Walter Kerr Theatre in a vintage taxi cab. How often does that happen? And talk about celebs: Matthew Broderick, Bernadette Peters, Edie Falco, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Karen Akers, Glenn Close, Regis and Joy Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford were all on hand to see headliners Faith Prince and Harvey Fierstein in a show that packs an emotional punch. After the curtain call, it was off to the nearby Hilton for a real-life catered affair complete with a wedding cake and wedding band playing all the hits. Here's to the happy cast!
