Story
In this world premiere by Bob Glaudini, cops, rappers, drug dealers, hustlers, schoolteachers, husbands and wives dwell in the rhythms of rap, raw humor, aphasic staccato and live jazz on 151st Street in Manhattan. The threat of violence is a way of life in this Harlem neighborhood, and random gunfire on the streetcorner affects characters struggling in different ways to find a better life.
The action on stage is accompanied by a jazz trio playing a score by Michael Cain. Glaudini follows up his hit of last season, Jack Goes Boating, with another keenly observed, beautifully acted slice-of-life drama.
