Seeing is believing at Bat Boy, the new musical Off-Broadway at the Union Square Theatre. Based on events as chronicled in The Weekly World News, Bat Boy is the story of a half boy/half bat creature who is discovered in a cave near Hope Falls, West Virginia. For lack of a better solution, the Hope Falls sheriff brings Bat Boy to the home of the town veterinarian, where he is eventually accepted as a member of the family and taught to act like a "normal" boy. Now called Edgar, Bat Boy is happy with his new life. But lurking in the distance are two grave dangers: a town that fears what they do not understand, and the secret of his true origins, which Bat Boy will soon discover in the most shocking manner imaginable.
