The Story
S. Epatha Merkerson ("Law and Order," HBO's Lackawanna Blues, Tony Award-nominee for The Piano Lesson) takes the stage as tough, funny, big-hearted Birdie Blue. Times are tougher than ever, but Birdie welcomes us in, tells it -- and we mean all of it -- like it is, and then does what she has to do in this lyrical and jazzy reflection on love, marriage, and the passage of time from Cheryl L.
