“What’s not to love about Betty Boop?” (Chicago Tribune) For almost a century, Betty has won hearts and inspired fans around the world with her trademark looks, voice, and style. Now, in BOOP!, Betty’s dream of an ordinary day off from super-celebrity in her black-and-white world leads to a “bright and bubbly” (Time Out New York) adventure of color, music, and love in New York City. “A show-stopping rainbow of joy” (The Daily Beast), BOOP! is the new Broadway musical-comedy extravaganza that’s fun for everyone. Boop-oop-a-doop!
Tony Award®–winning director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, La Cage aux Folles, Hairspray) brings Fleischer Studios’ Queen of the Screen to the theater with celebrated multiple-time Grammy®-winning composer David Foster (“I Have Nothing,” “After the Love Is Gone,” “The Prayer”), Tony-nominated lyricist Susan Birkenhead (Working, Jelly’s Last Jam), and Tony-winning bookwriter Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone, The Prom).
"I took my daughter and mother in law to watch the performance. I did not really know what it was going to be like and we all LOVED it. The show is fun, colorful and makes you feel good. The costumes were so good. We especially loved the puppeteer with the dog biscuit. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Kids and grownups alike. "

I was so excited to see Betty come to life!
"I’m a lifelong BOOP fan who took my kids and grandkids to the show as a Passover retreat. I was excited and the show outdid all my expectations. The lighting design is spectacular, the use of black-and-white and color to mix the old cartoons with the new story was wonderful. The cast and all the storylines were terrific, there were references to the old cartoons and references to contemporary life, something for everyone. The singing and dancing were wonderful, I particularly appreciate the fact that each featured character got their own moment to shine. It was a real treat, everyone enjoyed, and I was happy to give a standing ovation."

Boop, Broadway the way it used to be!
"Boop gave me a sense of what big Broadway shows were like: tap dancing, good songs, great dancing, and scenery. I'd recommend it to all. "

Amazing performances.
"The music and dancing were both awesome. The performers are so talented and I wish them so much success throughout their lives. They deserve it. It was nice to see that older people can continue their chosen careers and stay healthy and energetic and convincingly play their roles. Loved it."

A fun show staged with great energy.
"I had read great reviews of “Boop!” And they turned outta be true!
The show is done with great energy and is very funny.
The sets and costumes were amazing, especially changing from the black and white cartoon mode to brightly colored real world costumes and scenery. The lead actress is so energetic and talented."

Wonderful, fun show!
"A very entertaining show! Thought the staging and plot are extremely creative. Creation of the black & white world of the original cartoon, bringing the characters to the current colorful world of the present and sometimes merging the two worlds is done in a clever way. Song and dance numbers are engaging and lively. EVERY performer has a strong voice for the broadway stage. Unfortunately as often happens in these shows, even a strong voice occasionally gets drowned out by the musical accompaniment. All in all a great experience!"

Entertainment
"A colorful show with an extremely talented cast of actors who sing and dance at the highest level. It definitely has Jerry Mitchell's handprint.
It might help if you are aware of the Betty Boop character from the 1930's, but is not necessary if you just want to enjoy a good musical. "
