Break Out Busts Some Dope Moves on Opening Night
After premiering in Korea in 2007 and performing in London, Malaysia, Bangkok, Laos and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Break Out made its New York premiere at the Union Square Theatre on September 25. Developed by the same creative team who produced Jump, the largely non-verbal comedy uses gymnastics, breakdancing and “human beatboxing”—most of which has to be seen and heard to be believed—to tell a story about an ancient text that inspires prisoners to break free. The all-Korean cast may not speak English, but at the opening-night bash at Cibar, they let their moves do the talking. Click on to see the Break Out crew kick it!
