Meryl Streep Hosts Equality Now Benefit at Bridge & Tunnel
The many faces of Sarah Jones in her solo Broadway creation Bridge & Tunnel paired with long-time supporter and benefactor Meryl Streep to bring an Equality Now benefit to the Helen Hayes Theatre on March 7. Streep, who was introduced to Jones through Equality Now (an international human rights organization dedicated to action for the civil, political, economic and social rights of girls and women), was one of Bridge & Tunnel's original producers when the show first debuted in its sold-out seven-month off-Broadway run at 45 Bleecker before it came to Broadway. Streep hosted the event, which was followed by a party at Angus McIndoe. Naturally, we were there with camera in tow.
