A musical tribute to the brief, shining career of musical comet Buddy Holly. Born in Texas, Holly rose to fame, changed the rock and roll landscape, and then died tragically at the age of 23. The play is mostly a compendium of his songs with only quick dramatic moments. His final concert takes place in Clear Lake, Iowa before he boarded the plane for the next stop on the tour. Of course, the Big Bopper and Richie Valens are here, too, and Buddy's fiance, Maria Elena. Some Buddy Holly songs: "Peggy Sue," "Maybe Baby," "That'll Be the Day," "Not Fade Away," "Words of Love."
