Story
This is the story of Camille, a French courtesan who learns the true meaning of love in her last months of life. Set in Paris in 1875, this piece translates beautifully into our genre of Musical Theatre. At its core it is a story of love and forgiveness, a message as powerful today as it was for audiences of its time. With the sweep of Les Miz and the passion of Romeo and Juliet, the star-crossed lovers (Camille and Armand) come together only to be split apart by the conventions of society. And as her lover holds her lifeless body in the final moments of the play, we realize that our time on earth is finite, too. We must look to ourselves to be more compassionate, more forgiving, and live each day as if it were our last.
