"As much tribute as revival, the spirit of Fosse's genius never leaves the stage, and Chicago, under Walter Bobbie's sharp direction, will dazzle newcomers to the trademark Fosse dance style and provide a thrilling reminder to those who've seen it before just how smart, sexy and exciting this brand of choreography was, or rather, is."
"Entertaining from the get go. Awesome cast! Very talented and stimulating to watch never a dull moment. "

A Cabaret inspired play
"The singing and cast were absolutely wonderful. One of the female leads immediately reminded us of Liza Minnelli and the supporting singers were just delightful. A period play set in Chicago with adultery, treachery, and murder."

Amazing show!
"Chicago was one of the best shows I have seen. The quality of every single cast member was a 10. The story and music is fabulous. I brought my 14 year old and it was fine for him, but I don't believe it's a kids show as it contains adult themes and humor. "

"The show was spectacular to say the least! The performers were remarkable as the majority of them were on stage more than the main characters! You could truly see the passion they had in their show! Would highly recommend for a fun, sexy, and hilarious show!! "

30 yrs and counting
"Having seen Chicago on stage plus the movie (great) over the past 30 yrs, we decided to catch it during our most recent NYC visit. Honestly, the driving force was curiosity over the casting of Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas. We were not disappointed. Whitney is far more than a novelty act. She CAN sing, dance and act. We expected Mark to dance with ease; his singing exceeded all expectations.
Chicago is simply a wonderful show. Whitney and Mark were inspired casting choices."

Chicago musical
"The singing was amazing, the acting was classic. I will be honest I wanted to see Mark Ballas and Whitney Leavitt perform live and it exceeded my expectations. It also didn’t hurt that I was part of a Chicago Musical performance in our little town and knew all the songs"

Absolutely fantastic
"Absolutely incredible. Chicago on Broadway is everything you want in a show—sexy, sharp, and endlessly entertaining. From the moment the curtain rises, you’re pulled into a world of jazz, scandal, and pure talent. The choreography is flawless, the music is iconic, and the cast delivers every number with energy and precision.
What really makes this production stand out is its minimalist staging—it somehow feels even more intimate and powerful because of it. Every spotlight moment hits, and the live orchestra on stage adds such a cool, immersive vibe.
The performances were outstanding across the board, with show-stopping vocals and perfect comedic timing.
If you’re even thinking about seeing Chicago, do it. It’s a timeless Broadway classic that completely lives up to the hype. 5/5"

A good show in a historical theater
"The jazz music with the orchester is my preference. The actors are in very good form, singing, dancing and a little bit artistic. The story is good to understand (also as german).
The theater itself has an historcal flair, but the space between the rows is very small. "

a classic for a reason
"Chicago is the longest-running active show on Broadway. No one needs my recommendation to know whether they should go see it, but here it is anyway: if you only have the time or budget for one show, it should be this one. The score, the staging, the choreography—it all works, and it couldn’t be better!"

About
Chicago
Set in the legendary city during the roaring “jazz hot” 20s, Chicago tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail. Nightclub star Velma’s serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two in bed together. Driven chorus girl Roxie’s been tossed in the joint for bumping off the lover she’s been cheating on her husband with. Not one to rest on her laurels, Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton and slickster lawyer Billy Flynn, who turn Velma’s incarceration into a murder-of-the-week media frenzy, thus preparing the world for a splashy showbiz comeback. But Roxie’s got some of her own tricks up her sleeve…
