Dessa Rose's Sweet Opening Night
Dessa Rose is a new off-Broadway musical that reunites lyricist Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty with their Once on This Island director, Graciela Daniele, and star, LaChanze. The show opened at Lincoln Center's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre on March 21 with Rachel York and LaChanze in the leading roles. After the opening night performance, the tuner's company headed to nearby watering hole O'Neal's to toast their show and catch up with the many good friends in attendance.
