Floyd Collins is a gripping and powerful musical based on the true story of a cave explorer in Kentucky, 1925. While chasing a dream of fame and fortune by turning Sand Cave into a tourist attraction, Floyd Collins himself becomes the attraction when he gets trapped 200 feet underground. Alone but for sporadic contact with the outside world, including his brother Homer, Floyd fights for his sanity – and, ultimately, his life – as the rescue effort above explodes into the first genuine media circus. Reporters and gawkers from across the country descend on the property, fueling the hysteria and manipulating the nation into holding its collective breath.

Jeremy Jordan stuns
"I am a fan of Jeremy Jordan, so getting tickets to this was a no brainer. I had amazing seats and they were much better in person than they appeared to be on the computer. I found the general theme of the music fitting to the setting and style of the show but a little boring if being honest. Something I wouldn’t listen to as a soundtrack. That being said, Jeremy Jordan stuns and the production was well done. I hope he wins the Tony. "

First Broadway Show
"We saw Floyd Collins on Thursday April 24th and thought it was amazing. My daughter loves the theater and we've seen many shows in our hometown Grove City OH. She asked to see this specific play in New York for her birthday. She loves Jeremy Jordan!
I loved the history behind the play and thought it was very well done. The Vivian Beaumont Theater is beautiful! "

Floyd Collins
"Floyd Collins is a musical to which many theatregoers haven't been exposed. This revival receives a grand production at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Jeremy Jordan masterfully conveys Floyd's seemingly endless optimism and spunk. Last season, he dazzled as the emotional Jay Gatsby; this year, he embodies hardy, ambitious Kentucky cave explorer Floyd Collins. Jordan maneuvers himself through an invisible, but clearly convoluted, twist of a tunnel, searching for a cavern to turn into a tourist attraction. But the most amazing physical feat Jordan accomplishes is staying still. "Trapped," Jordan remains on stage as the media circus unfolds around him. One would think that being motionless would hinder Jordan's performance; instead, it demonstrates what a stellar performer he is. We suffer with Floyd. And we morally suffer with his family who struggles to save him while also profitting off his misfortune. And we ache for slim Skeets and engineer Carmichael to save Floyd. The stage mostly remains empty with the exception of rugged flooring and gorgeous, colorful backdrops of the changing sky. (Makes you wonder why Floyd would rather be underground.) The only drawback, I feel is the gigantic stage. I think we lose some sense of just how tight and winding Floyd's route was (in some places only 9 inches wide). Perhaps a projection of his path on the stage wall would have helped. Nevertheless, this is a production worth seeing. Can we please give Jeremy Jordan the Tony he rightfully deserves?!"

Great talent, okay story
"The principal cast is incredible! Jeremy Jordan and Lizzy Mcalpine make seeing this show worth it, however the story was slow at times. Staging was also a little underwhelming compared to other productions."

Not sure about this show
"I liked the performances and the staging. But I am not sure why the producers thought this would be a good show to produce. It did not have a satsifying or uplifting ending or any particular meaning for me. I saw this with my grandson and he liked it. "
