October 2 was officially declared "Forbidden Broadway Day" in New York City, by proclamation of Mayor Mike Bloomberg, in honor of the show's 25th Anniversary and new edition,
Forbidden Broadway: Rude Awakening, which opened the same night. And who better to unveil the new street sign dubbing 47th Street "Forbidden Broadway" than Broadway legend Chita Rivera? (Why, you ask? She's the subject of one of creator Gerard Alessandrini's most famous spoofs!) Check out our photo album of the Big Apple event.
