In 1961, Californian brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson teamed up with their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine to create a music group that would make them stars and earn them a place in rock and roll history. The band was The Beach Boys, a pioneer in so-called "surf music" and the creator of beloved pop confections like "California Girls," "Help Me, Rhonda," "Little Deuce Coupe" and "Good Vibrations." Good Vibrations is a new musical that doesn't try to tell the story of The Beach Boys a la TV's Behind the Music. Instead, the creators of show use The Beach Boys songbook to tell of the romantic misadventures of a group of small-town teens [IMG:L]on a life-changing odyssey to the Promised Land: the beaches of Southern California. John Carrafa, one of the creators of the Tony-winning Urinetown is director and choreographer of Good Vibrations with acclaimed playwright Richard Dresser providing the book. With a vibrant cast filled with [IMG:R]Broadway's hottest young talents, Good Vibrations promises to be a family favorite and is the perfect way to heat up the cold New York winter!
