Henry is a seven-year-old boy who has just moved to a new house in the country. His parents say it's so he has room to play. Henry only thinks it's lonely. Mudge is the 180-pound dog that moves in with Henry's family. He and Henry become fast friends and they spend all their time together. Maybe Henry's year in the country won't be so bad after all!
