"This show was fantastic. All four cast members performed brilliantly. June Squibb is a national treasure. Incredible for anyone, let alone someone 96 years young. Deals with sensitive topics with grace and humor. Bravo. "

Wowza
"I loved everything about it! It's thoughtful, and it's not something expected. June Squibb is a treasure, and an longtime family friend, so I'm bias. Cynthia Nixon's preformance is nothing but outstanding. Bravo!

Great theater.
"A spectacular production. Set, lighting, sound and acting illuminated a beautifully written and directed, haunting story about a family’s love and the encroachment of high tech companions."

Performance that stayed with me
"I knew very little about the play beforehand; I went because of June Squibb and the subject of memory and dementia. But all the acting was fabulous - especially Squibb and Danny Burstein - and the play is beautifully written, paced, staged. It turns out to be timely as well. Most of all, I find I feel affected by it days later, and if I could, I'd go again."

Thought provoking play for our time
"Tightly written and well acted examination of a family relationship. An exploration of memory and the secrets we keep from ourselves to make it through life. In our disconnected world, where we struggle to communicate in person, Marjorie Prime shows us what we miss when we are not honest with each other. Wonderful acting by all four characters."

Classic Play with a modern twist
"A superb cast set in a great set fully develops their story in an engaging, contemporary and unique manner. So relatable and emotional, the story takes the patron on a journey which many of us will experience, to a very unique and totally believable conclusion. This is a play for people interested in a classic Broadway show. No special effects, amplified dialog or tricks. Solid Theater! The best we have experienced in some time."

Life is more than skin deep
"Not only was the cast fantastic, the script was amazing. It was witty and heartbreaking at the same time. Makes one realize that being human is more than skin deep…it is about what lies in the heart. Feelings cannot be taught, learned or “programmed”. Feelings just “are”. And this show demonstrates that. Great show. "

AI trying to "learn" emotions.
"I enjoyed the play. Good directing. Good cast. Good premise. My only frustration was with Tess' character, I felt there was a layer missing and that if her character had been a little clearer, the play would have been far more powerful. The choice to imply what makes Tess the way she is rather than dig in a little deeper keeps everything on a superficial level and a result also keeps the audience at bay."

Better than anticipated
"I, surprisingly, liked the play a lot. But I think if you did not read about the plot line it could be very confusing. I am so glad I did and was prepared, I was apprehensive once I knew the story. The cast was terrific, esp. Danny Burstein. It was one of the best performances I’ve seen at the Helen Hayes theatre. I recommend it."

Very emotional experience.
"The overall subject matter of being able to communicate with some aspect of someone you've lost was instantly overwhelmingly emotional. However luckily for me, the story itself did not have the same impact, so I was saved from an uncontrollable ugly-cry in the theatre, which I was honestly grateful for. The entire cast was exquisite. It’s a thought provoking and depressing concept.
"The show was well-acted though about 10 minutes too long. The concept is close to a reality and the story was told under the most depressing circumstances. There are a variety of ways to make point and this one chose the dark path. "

How Memories Define Us
"Great performances by the entire cast around what I saw as the degree to which our memories of past significant events impact us throughout our life. And how we shape those memories (what we choose to accurately retain and what we choose to modify) impact us for a lifetime."

About
Marjorie Prime
Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison reinvents the family drama in his richly spare, wryly funny, and powerful Marjorie Prime, directed by Tony Award® nominee Anne Kauffman. A heart-achingly beautiful rumination on aging and artificial intelligence, memory and mortality, love and legacy, Marjorie Prime examines the blurred line between a life lived and a life remembered.
