Port Authority Story

The poetry of ordinary life unfolds onstage as Conor McPherson (The Weir, The Seafarer) tells the tale of three generations of loss, learning and fleeting love in Ireland. In Dublin we meet young bachelor Kevin, in love with his female roommate; middle-aged Dermot, who teeters toward and away from his own success; and old widower Joe, who shares his home with the memory of the wife he loved and lost in vain. As each character's saga unfolds, their stories subtly piece together the life of an average man who is remarkable in his remembrance of the unremarkable. Originally produced at London's New Ambassadors Theatre in 2001, Port Authority stars Tony Award-winner John Gallagher Jr. (Spring Awakening), Tony Award nominee Brian D'Arcy James (Titanic, The Sweet Smell of Success), and original London production member and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton (Dublin Carol, The Seafarer).
