Reborn on Broadway, Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening Opens
After its acclaimed debut at off-Broadway's Atlantic Theater Company this summer, Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's soaring musical adaptation of Frank Wekekind's controversial coming-of-age classic Spring Awakening officially relocated to Broadway December 10. At its opening night at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, the exuberant young cast was welcomed by a host of glamorous show biz figures, including Edie Falco, Ian McShane, Tony Kushner, LaChanze and Mariska Hargitay, whose Law & Order: SVU castmate Tamara Tunie is making her Broadway debut as a producer with Spring Awakening. Like the show, the party at Tavern on the Green totally rocked. Check it out.
