Kenita R. Miller Performs at Press Screening of New TV Documentary The Color Purple: The Color of Success

One week before she assumes the starring role of Celie in The Color Purple on Broadway, Kenita R. Miller gave an invited crowd a glimpse of her amazing voice when on Monday, February 12, at Chelsea's Helen Mills Theater, Miller sang her character-defining "I'm Here" at a press screening of the new documentary The Color Purple: The Color of Success. The hour-long film, which chronicles the evolution of the Alice Walker classic from page to screen to stage, will receive its television premiere on the cable channel TV One on Sunday, February 18, at 8PM (EST). Joining Miller with some live entertainment were Na Tasha Yvette Williams and Chaz Lamar Shepherd, who, as Sophia and Harpo, sang "Any Little Thing." For your pleasure, we caught a few snaps.
