Drowsy Tony Winner Christens New Marquee at the Marquis
In keeping with her grandiose stage character, Beth Leavel, who currently plays the title role in The Drowsy Chaperone (and won a 2006 Tony Award for doing so!), stepped out of the stage door in full costume and into Times Square at dusk on Wednesday, November 22, to mount a cherry picker and (officially) switch on the lights of her show's splendid new marquee. The retro chic refurbishing of Drowsy's front of house logo features 40 neon tubes and over 1,000 bulbs. We were only too happy to take a few snaps for the scrapbooks. Click on.
