Sara Ramirez Wakes Up to The Drowsy Chaperone
Remember summer stock? Sara Ramirez does. The year before she won a 2005 Tony Award as the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, and before she went off to Hollywood and landed the hit TV show Grey's Anatomy, Ramirez was just another New York actress making due, job-to-jobbing it, happy to get a gig in stock for the summer. Indeed that's where she met Janine LaManna—when the two co-starred together in Cabaret and Main at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in the summer of 2004. While in the city this week, Ramirez dropped by to see LaManna's show-off turn as Janet Van De Graaff in the Tony Award-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone on May 17.
