The Philanthropist Makes a Starry Return to Broadway

Broadway got an Ivy League education in comedy on April 26, as the revival of Christopher Hampton's The Philanthropist cracked open its covers at the  American Airlines Theatre. The West End transfer of Hampton's 1970s romp through starched, ambitious and occasionally sexy Oxford University brought Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick back to the stage, as well as fellow vets like Jonathan Cake, Steven Weber and London revival cast member Anna Madeley, among others.
