Meet the Cast of Off-Broadway's Tin Pan Alley Rag

Roundabout Theater Company, repped this season by shows like the Tony Award-nominated revivals of Pal Joey and Waiting for Godot will be doing something totally new this summer: presenting its first off-Broadway musical The Laura Pels Theatre. The piece, about music prodigy Scott Joplin and famed composer Irving Berling (“White Christmas,” anyone?), imagines a meeting between the pair of musicians while presenting their contributions to toe-tapping musical genre ragtime. Michael Boatman (the HBO series Ali$$, Broadway’s Master Harold…and the boys) stars as Joplin, while Michael Therriault (Fiddler on the Roof, The Lord of the Rings) takes on Berlin. Tin Pan Alley Rag was written by Mark Saltzman and will include beloved classics like “The Entertainer,” “I Love a Pi
