Story
Way back before the TV series, the hit films and the Academy Award, Whoopi Goldberg was just another struggling New York actress with a dream. When she met legendary director and producer Mike Nichols, the dream became a reality. Under Nichols' guidance, Goldberg premiered her one-woman show at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway, earning a Theatre World Award and a legion of fans for her efforts.
[IMG:R]Twenty years later, Goldberg is back at the Lyceum with a revised version of the 1984 show (which also became an acclaimed HBO special). The five beloved characters from the first--the little black girl with blonde hair, the Jamaican nursemaid, the surfer chick, the junkie and the disabled person--are back, with two new monologues added for this anniversary production.
