Principal actors will appear in performances of Broadway shows barring any illness, injury, or last-minute cancellation, and except where otherwise noted.
A principal actor is the listed performer for a lead role. Understudies are usually part of the show in a non-leading role but may be called upon to step into a lead role. Standbys and swings can cover one or more lead roles and only perform in them when required.

Alternates tend to have an announced performance schedule, while understudies and standbys do not typically have planned performance dates.
The unscheduled absence of some principal actors may permit ticketholders to receive a refund or exchange into an alternate date of the same show. Ticketholders are usually notified of such an absence by email.
All Broadway shows have stage doors, but actors are not obligated to greet fans after a given performance. Be respectful and adhere to all announced rules.

Longer shows are likely to have at least one intermission, whereas shorter shows, like one-act plays, may be performed without a break. Intermissions are usually 10 to 20 minutes but may be longer.
