A great interpretation with a well appointed cast
"I’ve seen ART a few times in different decades. Once even in London in the late ‘90’s. It’s a timeless theme and a premise unaffected by modern trends or technology. In this interpretation, I thought each actor brought their anticipated strength to roles that are, respectively, not a stretch for any of them, but played very well. To see each of these actors do, on stage, in an intimate and iconic NYC theater, what they do best is worth the price of admission. The biggest surprise for me was Corden - I expected him to bring some comic relief but he surprised me with his vulnerability and poignancy. "

Funny and Sad
"With Neil Patrick Harris, James Corden and Bobby Cannavale, the play Art had a lot of funny things in it but it was also sad as it showed how a friendship rich in characters could go bad when one decides to purchase a piece of art. It also transcends how each of the character in the play see each other (not necessarily as a whole). IWe laughed and it brought some of the audience tears as they ould relate or know someone as the the actors portrayed."

Extremely entertaining
"James Courdon stole the show with his rants on his personal stresses, all three of them were funny and played their roles perfectly. It would be a travesty if they don’t win Tony awards."

The nature of ART - and friendship.
"Art was laugh-out-loud funny, thought provoking, and a wonderful night of entertainment. Great cast and direction. Many of the laughs were not from words written into the script, but from the facial expressions, silences and actions of this talented cast. The play tugs at themes of personal identity, self worth and friendship in an unpretnetious way. And something unexpected: by the end of the show we felt drawn to the canvas that an hour before had seemed meaningless. A memorable show worth seeing! "

About
Art
Bobby Cannavale (The Motherf*cker with the Hat, Glengarry Glen Ross), James Corden (One Man, Two Guvnors; The History Boys), andNeil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) return to the stage in the first Broadway revival of the Tony Award®️-winning play ART by Yasmina Reza. Directed by Scott Ellis (Pirates! The Penzance Musical, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), this sleek and sophisticated comedy is coming this fall for a strictly limited engagement.
Three longtime friends. One ridiculously expensive painting. Is it art, or is it just the world’s priciest inside joke? What begins as a polite debate over aesthetics and taste devolves into a clash of egos and resentments. Can their friendship survive, or will one of them finally draw the line? It’s just 100 minutes of minimalist art, maximalist laughs, and a moving look at what we really see and forgive in the people we love.
