Betty Boop still glowing, still delivering
"Nearly a century after her cartoon days, Betty Boop can still put smiles on faces. I had one on my face for over two hours when I saw "Boop the Musical" Friday night (7/11) ... I thought it was cute, fun, and absolutely delightful. Lots of laughs, too. Jasmine Amy Roger was incredible! Can't wait to see her again in future productions. If it wasn't ending today 😞 I would definitely be seeing it again. I'm hoping it comes to the Shubert Theater in New Haven, CT ... Thanks for a great experience!!"

A lot of fun with some real insights
"My aunt and I thoroughly enjoyed Boop. The costumes, the dancing, the energy on stage evoked the musicals from the early 20th century. Such fun! Jasmine Amy Rogers was a force on stage! I cannot believe Boop is her Broadway debut."

Fun-tastic!
"I'm so sorry to see that this show closes this week. It features an incredible cast, led by Jasmine Amy Rogers, creative staging and inspired choreography. I haven't had this much fun at a show in a long time. I alternately felt like I was living in the monochromatic cartoon kingdom created by the Fleischers and on the technicolor set of an MGM musical. Great show for the family, fans of Betty Boop and the classic Fleischer cartoons or Hollywood musicals. Catch it before it ends!"

Boop - a fun family show for all ages…
"The show was fun to watch. The talent was great, the tap was so much fun. The sets and staging were wonderful. The humor missed the mark for us but only because we felt it was antiquated and could have been written better. However, all the kids in the audience were laughing out loud so that may just be our adult group’s opinion. Very well done and enjoyable!"

Boop is a must see!
"This show effortlessly blends classic broadway with the modern era. The show starts off with an AMAZING first number, that incorporates an incredible tap dancing number. I love tap dancing so much and I almost cried because it was so beautiful. The set design was great. I liked the use of screens, which added to the cartoonish element of Betty Boop cartoons. During the show, Betty Boop goes to the “real” world, like the Barbie movie and learns about modern issues and is determined to make a change. She changes the lives of the people around her, both in the “real” world, her cartoon world, and herself. I believe this show is perfect for someone’s first time seeing a musical. The comedy was great and there were a few adult jokes. A little off topic, but there was a kid sitting in front of me and I could see how much he was enjoying the show and it was really nostalgic to me. This show is great for kids, families, couples, or by yourself. Lastly, I think everyone should watch this show. It was amazing and I want to see it again!"

A fun show staged with great energy.
"I had read great reviews of “Boop!” And they turned outta be true! The show is done with great energy and is very funny. The sets and costumes were amazing, especially changing from the black and white cartoon mode to brightly colored real world costumes and scenery. The lead actress is so energetic and talented."

Wonderful, fun show!
"A very entertaining show! Thought the staging and plot are extremely creative. Creation of the black & white world of the original cartoon, bringing the characters to the current colorful world of the present and sometimes merging the two worlds is done in a clever way. Song and dance numbers are engaging and lively. EVERY performer has a strong voice for the broadway stage. Unfortunately as often happens in these shows, even a strong voice occasionally gets drowned out by the musical accompaniment. All in all a great experience!"

Entertainment
"A colorful show with an extremely talented cast of actors who sing and dance at the highest level. It definitely has Jerry Mitchell's handprint. It might help if you are aware of the Betty Boop character from the 1930's, but is not necessary if you just want to enjoy a good musical. "

Previews
"I thought the concept was very clever. The young actress in the lead was very good. The boyfriend was not as disciplined as she was. The young girl was excellent. I believe the show was still in previews so the dancing should shape up. Not as precise as could be. Still worth seeing. Music by Foster was good. Sound system wass excellent."

Beautiful performance. … a lot of dancing
"I liked the overall production with costumes, projectors, special effects. I think the storyline is a little too simplistic for Broadway. And the musical part does not impress. "
